I'm not usually a huge fan of takeout sushi because I feel like by the time you get it home, it just doesn't taste very good. This place is the exception! I put in a takeout order of a couple rolls and two miso soups and went next door to get my eyebrows done. The lady who took my order let me know she would get my soup ready as soon as I came back to pick up my takeout order so that it would stay hot. I didn't have to wait more than a couple minutes for my food by the time I came back. The inside of the restaurant was really clean and the inside looked like it was newly remodeled. My rolls and miso soup (still hot) we really good. They didn't skimp on the fish in the rolls and packed plenty of wasabi, ginger, and soy sauce to go. I'll definitely be back!

I love this place. Not a whole lot of sushi selections but enough for something to get in a pinch or if you just want a decent meal without paying $100. My son LOVES the chicken bowl and miso soup. The staff is always super friendly and nice.

This sushi was a MAJOR BUST!! Based on all the great reviews I was super excited to try this place. The pictures and descriptions of their menu looked and sounded really good, however, I would give the sushi 0 stars if I could. I ordered the Crunch Roll with a few additions. I added cream cheese and jalepeno, as I have many times before from other places and loved the flavor. Unfortunately, this roll was disgusting because: -They used pickled jalapeño from a jar (I thought the whole point of sushi was to use fresh ingredients!! Where's the fresh jalepeno???) -Rice was not sticky and roll was falling apart -Shrimp tempura heated up the entire roll which turned the insides to mush so I was left with melted cream cheese, and soggy rice, seaweed, and avocado. [SIDE BAR: I have eaten sushi with shrimp tempura for years and have never had a warm roll. It was extremely off putting I ate 2 pieces and threw the rest of $18 worth of sushi away] On a positive note, the woman who helped us was really nice and helpful! She gave us advice and explained the menu to us. She gets 5 stars for customer service. Lastly, I was surprised that such a small casual resturaunt was kept so clean and tidy. Will not be returning or recommending. The search for quality sushi continues!

When this restaurant first open it's doors the sushi, in my opinion, was in the top three around Mission Viejo. I've tried several items from the menu and enjoy--well, used to--the Dynamite Roll. For some reason after this place gained popularity, and after some interior remodeling the food quality took a dive. The sushi I got the last couple of times appeared to have been ordered by someone else and cancelled but luckily I ordered the same thing so they where able to place it back in the oven and have it barely warm for me when I picked it up. This is NOT a hate review. I'm bummed because for a short while, I really enjoyed picking up an order of Dynamite Roll multiple times a week. Now all I get is some pricey leftovers. My hope is that they get back to the basics and bring quality to their food again. After all isn't quality what kept patrons coming back?

I ordered the Avocado Salad to go today and told the front staff it looked delicious and actually said "I hope it looks like the displayed menu picture". When it came out I asked to see it before she bagged it and I said that "it doesn't look like the picture." There was less than 1/2 the avocado pictured. That's why you order an avocado salad, for the avocado! Like many people, I don't like to send back food never knowing what you might get back so since it was already paid for, I left with it. I won't be back, it's nothing less than FALSE ADVERTISING and not worth arguing over. But word gets around. Change your picture on your menu or plate your food as pictured.

Came here not too long ago with a friend, it seemed pretty slow but I started to notice while having my dinner that a lot of their regular customers order to go. My friend and I got their Teriyaki Salmon Bento, which consists of 8 pieces of CA roll, salad, veggie tempura, edamame, rice and Salmon. We didn't know it came with 8 pieces of sushi so we also ordered SOS sushi. SOS was okay for me, I think there was too much going on, I most likely won't get it again. This is a place to go if you want a quick sushi fix. Yummy Yum-Yum :)

Sushi & Roll is a great spot if you're looking for a quick, casual takeout meal. I always stop by during my lunch break because it's a quick drive from my office and the service is quick and efficient. You can easily place a phone order through the cashier. For the price you're paying, the quality has always been consistent. This is definitely a go to spot for awesome takeout sushi/Japanese!

  • Josephine W.

My favorite lunch time spot.. I always call in my order and ready for pick up when I come in super fast!! Great service with a smile.. Love this place

  • Nancy S.

They remodeled and the place looks fab! But the food is even better! For the price and it's casual atmosphere, the quality of food is better than most sit down restaurants. Parking is easy, and location is easy to swing by. I'm coming back here again!

  • Joel B.

First time there. My wife had the Cali roll and burrito roll, and I had the low card teriyaki beef and chicken bowl (no rice, extra veggies). Really good, would go again for sure!

    (5)
  • Katie H.

Just checked out this spot recently and WOW!! Amazing food! I recommend getting the Beef Teriyaki Bowl. Hands down -- it's the best one I've ever had! We'll definitely be visiting again. Sushi was great too!

It's been a little while since we've been but it still has great food. It's got new owners now and they revamped the inside a bit. It's nicer and newer looking. The food is still great and the service is nice. I love little mom and pop places because the food has real passion. This is still on my top 10 list of go-to places for quick sushi at decent prices. Yum ! Tonight I had the spicy chicken bowl and loved it. I would suggest this place to anyone who likes good sushi. I'd give them 5 stars but there sign is completely dark outside and honestly I almost thought they weren't here anymore when I first drive by before turning into the center. Hopefully they'll get that taken care of soon.

I was anxious to try this place based off of its good yelp rating however ended up being very disappointed. I had one bite of my sushi and threw the rest away! I ordered a very basic shrimp tempura roll and not only was it warm and falling apart, but it was super bland.. I even drowned it in eel sauce, spicy mayo and soy sauce and it was like eating hot rice with sauce on it... Overall unappetizing.

My husband and I love Sushi & Roll! It's our go-to for local "fast" sushi. The food is always tasty and fresh, and they have tons of choices- both traditional sushi/sashimi and specialty rolls. I also really like their Udon. My only complaint is that you can't find their menu anywhere online. Sometimes it can take a little while for the food to be ready so it would be nice to be able to see the menu before calling ahead to order.

  • Robyn S.

Came here for a late lunch today and I think I have found my new go-to sushi place. It's right down the street from where I live and their food is so good! The service is definitely good too. I got the 8 piece California roll, and they were great. You could tell they made the roll right then and cut it because I got two end pieces. It tasted fresh and flavorful. And the seaweed actually tasted fresh and salty unlike some other places. My boyfriend got a 16 piece sashimi which he enjoyed. It was good quality and well prepared. Both plates came with ginger and wasabi. I think the best part would have to be the price. My California rolls were 4.45 and the sashimi was 16.95, which seems pricy, but that's about a dollar per slice of fish which is reasonable. We are super excited to come back especially to try the bento boxes!

    (5)
  • Cristina P.

I can't even begin to say how excited I am to have such great Japanese take out so close to my house! We have been back twice in just over a week now -- the bento box is such an amazing deal -- and so yummy! My 6 year old loves the crunchy roll and my 4 year old just can't get enough of the tempura udon. The tempura is crunchy, not oily. The udon is favorful and just the right temperature. The sushi tastes fresh and is in generous portions. We are definitely going to be regulars. The girl at the counter is super friendly and helpful too. Love Sushi and Roll! Ask for a discount card, you are going to use it for sure!

    (5)
  • JJ S.

I give this place 5 stars because we go here at least once every two weeks. Always fresh sushi, value pricing, and a friendly young man serving up food. They are up for making custom rolls. This is not a fancy sushi place, and not somewhere you take a business party or a first date, but for some of the best sushi in town in a simple, strip mall location, sushi and roll is great!

    (5)
  • 1's N 0's G.

The sushi is okay but I'm somewhat frustrated. They don't publish their menu online on purpose. It's one thing when you have basic sushi it's another when you have a number of specialty sushi rolls. How the hell do you expect someone to order take out food without a freaking online menu. I'm not a genius but if you want someone to by your stuff you would let them know what's for sale. Okay don't get me wrong in some instances there are well respected sushi chefs who create amazing dishes for you on the fly and you eat and pay, but this isn't the place. Put a menu online.

    (2)
  • Kelly M.

Pretty good. Clean, efficient set-up. Friendly service. Coke products (always a good thing IMO). Christmas decor was still up in April, so that's a little weird. Food was good. The only thing that I really have an issue with is the price. Two smallish rolls and two small sodas cost us $25. The price for what you get is just WAY off. The prices on the lunch specials (like teriyaki chicken) are better - around $9. But the sushi prices are so far off that I wouldn't come back.

    (3)
  • Jenna W.

Yummmmmmmmmm! First things first! So yummy! Right down the corner from my house, great location! Prices are reasonable!! Would def recommend this place to anyone in the area! Not super fancy at all also very causal! Gotta come try it out !

  • Jason G.

I LOVE eating here. The people are great and the food is always spot on. I eat here easily, twice a week. They always make me feel welcome and are just wonderful whenever I go in. I've been eating here for several years now, and the service is really top notch. They have a great selection on the menu and I highly recommend the Roll Combo. A nice little local spot to grab lunch at.

    (5)
  • Kim R.

I had their chicken teriyaki, vegetable tempura, & miso soup. The chicken teriyaki was actually pretty tasty. The sauce was much less sweet that other places and I really enjoyed it. The tempura was pretty average, not bad but also not amazing. It came with ponzu sauce that I thought tasted bland. As for the miso soup, it might have been one of the blandest and unflavorful miso soups I have ever had. I would not recommend getting this at all. Overall, the price was well priced at around $7-8. I would definitely come back and try their sushi because they are a good place to have an affordable and quick lunch.

  • Portia G.

This place is a gem to have nearby. I've never had a bad meal. Hubby and I get the bento box to share but will sometimes add a seaweed salad. Week night dinner after work..call in and it'll be ready for pick up.

  • Melinda G.

First time here and my daughter and I Loved the food and atmosphere. Fresh food and courteous service. My favorite is the lollipop roll and asparagus roll. My daughter got the lunch roll combo and she had plenty to keep her from reaching over to eat my plate. thank you for a healthy and delicious lunch!!

    (5)
  • M W.

WOW! i couldn't believe how friendly and put-together this place is. the menu is excellent, prices are very reasonable, and the staff have some of the friendliest people I think I have ever met. I have a usual sushi place that I go to, however lately I havent been satisfied with the service. I was looking for a new place I could try and found Sushi and Roll while driving home one day. Safe to say, they have found a new regular The location itself is more of a takeout type thing. It is not restaurant type, however you CAN absolutely stay there to eat your meal.

  • shawn m.

G & I love it here he always gets the teriyaki beef bowl with veggies on the side and extra rice and I'm all about the sashimi and sushi! The owners Jet and Connie are so awesome!! Yumbo food!

    (5)
  • Trevor H.

The food here is great! Connie is great and always friendly. They just remodeled and the place looks a lot better now, and the prices are still really affordable. One of my favorite lunch spots!

    (5)
  • Nancie M.

Overall very good I had udon with 4pc California roll for $9.13. Udon broth a little weak but doable. I think the combo price could come down a $ for what u get. owner is pleasant and convenient to nails by holly which is why I stop by.

    (3)
  • Ash T.

Quick, delicious sushi for a good price. Always enjoy their rice bowls and rolls. Enough options for return visits. One of my my local favorites.

    (4)
  • Nicholas S.

The owners, Connie and her husband Jet (Sushi Chef), are a pleasure to deal with. They always have someone with good customer service skills at the front desk and OH MY GOD....the sushi quality is second to none! I saltwater fish myself and make my own sushi plus I have been eating sushi for years since it is one of my favorite foods. Sushi and Roll only buys the best quality fish and it really stands out from all other sushi restaurants in the OC. I highly recommend this place, can't stress enough about the quality of fish they use.

    (5)
  • Gregory S.

The food here is great and the rolls are huge. Add to that friendly service and a clean environment and you can't go wrong with Sushi & Rolls. It's perfect for when you have a taste for Japanese. I heard about this place from a friend and although it's a bit of a drive from tustin, it's well worth it.

    (5)
  • Stacey S.

By far one on my favorite, quick sushi places! The service is impeccable! And everyone there is so sweet! The food is always fresh and I've never waited longer than 10 minutes to get it. I highly recommend this place if you're in the area!

    (5)
  • Kevin L.

Of the 5 or so sushi restaurants in the vicinity this is hands-down my favorite. Clean with friendly staff that remembers your name and most importantly delicious sushi. Affordable prices for great food and service with a smile will keep me coming back here time and time again. I have brought several groups and many of my coworkers have made this restaurant their mainstay. Keep it up Sushi and Roll!!

    (5)
  • Nancy S.

I really like their asparagus roll and also the salmon skin roll. Other rolls are pretty typical. It's not a fancy place, so I like that I can go in without feeling bad that I'm in my flip flops. Great food for fair price. There is a reason why this area's police dept. and fire dept. officers are regulars here. I would definitely come here for party platters and quick roll rixes. It is a friendly owner operated restaurant, and who doens't like to support local small biz?

    (4)
  • Alma R.

It was sooooo good and the service is excellent, they even are very thoughtful when giving you your order. I would totally recommend it to anyone who loves sushi! And it is not that expensive for so much food! I tried sharing it and we still had left overs! :)

    (5)
  • Jason F.

It's fast food sushi in a strip mall. What do you expect? As long as I don't get food poisoning eating the rolls they make, I'm a happy camper. $8.99 for Lunch Special D which includes 4 california rolls, 4 spicy tuna rolls, crunchy dragon roll, and a miso soup. Can't complain. The inside could use a little renovation and have more Japanese influences, but it is what it is.

This review comes after an extremely terrible experience with the two girls up at the front who seem to have a pretty easy "job" up at the front counter; with you know taking orders and packing chopsticks and soy sauce oh and calling a name for an order when it is ready! So after a long day my husband and I & our sleepy 8month old decide to stop in for a quick dinner. We walked in and ordered our food to go which seemed the fastest most convenient route; as our baby was getting hungry at this point. As time progressed on and we are trying to be patient as Chelsea is on a loud rant on how much she absolutely hates orange county and all the snobs in south orange county and how everyone in south county sucks... and other more inappropriate chit chat that should probably been kept private I began to get really annoying and uncomfortable. As 2other to go orders walked in than left I began to wonder if calling in ahead of time was maybe the key. After becoming agitated beyond belief I asked "Chelsea" if our order was ready. She exclaims "oh it's been here the whole time. Sorry about that." Furious, I look around with only 2other people in the restraunt and all to go orders taken care of... They couldn't have the decency or consideration or manors to maybe think that the bag all tied up and sitting on the counter was for the exhausted couple with the fussy baby???? Seriously shame on these 2 employees.

  • Valerie M.

This is our favorite sushi place! The fish is fresh, great customer service and great prices! I recommend this place to all of my friends.

    (5)
  • Hailey C.

Whenever I come and get stuff here, I get a udon. I also occasionally get the chicken teriyaki. The chicken teriyaki is really tasty. The sauce is DELICOUS and the chicken is well cooked. The udon is a controversial topic for me. Half the times, it's great, other half, the broth is extremely salty. I don't know why it's only some of them.

    (3)
  • Amanda P.

This place is a great Mom & Pop Sushi Restaurant. Very low key yet delicious food and everyone is very nice and they will customize any order unlike Kanpai in Ladera. We are here at least once a week!

    (5)
  • Holly M.

This place is great for a quick sushi fix!! I've been coming here for years. They always remember me and remember no cucumber and soy paper on everything. I love the new "burrito" they have. It's so good!! Love the sriracha mayo that comes with it. Hmmmmm. I think I need to go there today for lunch.

  • nick w.

I have seen this place for years but have never stepped inside. Today I was craving rolls so...I jumped. I am not a raw sushi person so I will only rate the California rolls and gyoza I had. The gyoza were cooked crispy and had a great texture. The insides were spicy. I had two California rolls, one plain and one deep fried. I am very impressed with both. When I return I will repeat this order and try some of the other menu items. The interior was very clean and orderly. The person taking the order said it was his families business. There is not sushi bar. If you want a quick roll to go or a quick lunch I highly recommend you try this place.

    (4)
  • Ahmad N.

Wow!!! If you like sushi, you'll love this place. Very tasty dishes and very affordable. Someone recommended TVs place to us and after eating here last night, I concur with all the hype she gave the food. The ambience is not fine dining - you order the food at the counter and take it with you to your table and they don't serve beer or wine, but it's definitely worth going to for the sushi.

    (5)
  • Barry S.

Such a great place for a quick Japanese Food fix. New owners are so nice and the for the price, the food is great!

    (5)
  • Catalina C.

I did not expect much from a Japanese fast food. I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Always friendly and helpful. They make you feel comfortable. The food is pretty acceptable for the price. It is a good choice when you need to pick up Japanese to go. Their party platter is pretty good and well price. Highly recommend it. You got a lot of good food for the money.

  • jim T.

this place is great for fast Togo sushi. fish doesn't taste old and the service is great. decent priced. absolutely worth 5 stars. I come here about once a week

    (5)
  • Koala B.

Possibly the best sushi I've had in years. Very reasonably priced, the staff always remember my name. A great restaurant that's in a strip mall that I now recommend to many who too share the same experience.

    (5)
  • Matt H.

Yes, it is in a strip mall, but what isn't in a strip mall in this part of the county? S&R makes pretty decent sushi. What more can you ask for. There is no sushi bar, and the interior is pretty plain, and we almost always take our orders to go, but the quality of the fish is always good and the specialty rolls are tasty and fun. It is not on my list of top sushi spots in OC, but then, when I want take out I don't go to my top spots.

    (4)
  • Hannah K.

For a small "order at the front" sushi place the foods not bad. I like that I can get take out here too. The lunch specials are a really good deal. My boyfriend got 2 different specials and shared them and we left full and happy!

    (4)
  • N C.

Tried this place for lunch today. I got the lunch special with crunch, california and spicy tuna rolls. Total came out to over $10...and that did not include a drink. Service was quick, portions were veryyyyy small and taste was eh. The rolls were barely the size of a tator tot....so you know thats small. 5 crunch rolls and 4 of each of the other two. Rolls had a sliver and yes i do mean sliver of avocado and cucumbers in them. In my books, not a good value especially for lunch when prices are supposed to be way less than dinner prices.

    (2)
  • Randoll C.

Was in the mood for some Udon and my friend was in the mood for some Sushi. Well, not really Sushi as she wanted California Rolls but what's a guy to do? Udon with four pieces of spicy tuna and two Shrimp Tempura's for $8. More than filling for me and though I've had better Sushi and Tempura, for the combo price, I haven't found a better deal yet. My friend ordered her California Rolls and a Crunch Roll and they weren't bad. If I could rate with half stars, Sushi & Roll would have garnered a 3.5 but seeing as I've been here a few times in as many weeks, I rounded up to 4.

    (4)
  • Jo M.

It's been years since I stepped into Sushi and Roll because of a bad customer service experience. However, I was craving rolls one day when I was picking up my dry cleaning next door so I decided to give SAR another shot. I ordered a variety of typical rolls and I thought they were all very good. Portions were good, fish tasted fine and price was fair. If you're into basic rolls, this place is good and will do the job. Customer service was much improved and much more accomodating. I'm glad I gave them a second shot. This place is now my go to place for sushi rolls and party platters in the future. KUDOS to Sushi and Roll for improving their business.

    (4)
  • Tu-Quyen P.

This place is fine if you are in a hurry and need a sushi fix immediately, but the quality of their fish and rolls are definitely more food court-level, which doesn't match their sit-down restaurant prices. They are also super slow even when you're the only customer there. I still go here when I need a quick fix and don't want to go through the hassle of a sit-down place, but come here with low expectations or you will be sorely disappointed.

    (2)
  • Sabrina M.

The food was delicious, but the service was so slow. We planned on picking up sushi quickly to go but it ended up being a 40 ordeal.

    (3)
  • Linda K.

i love the lunch specials that they have! mon - fri 11:30am-3pm or something like that. the crunch roll here in the best, not really a fan of the chicken and rice though.

    (3)
  • Amy P.

For the price and speed of service, this place is basically as good as it gets. Although it's not a nice restaurant environment, it is the best for when you have a sushi craving and aren't trying to go to a fancy/overpriced restaurant for it. Not saying it's the best sushi ever, but definitely the best bang for your buck. Also, it's very clean inside which makes me feel better about ordering raw fish from there.

    (5)
  • Anson C.

I visited this small quaint fast food sushi place a few times and I was impressed. I normally don't eat raw sushi but I had to give it a shot. I was pleasantly surprised! I had a hamachi sushi and salmon! It was expertly prepared and the service was great! The young man behind the counter was very helpful and the food came out lightening fast. I normally get the fried stuff, which they had here as well! Do not miss out on the crunch roll or the 007 (it's one of the specialties here)

Great service, nice people, clean, and good food

I have to say I'm surprised with some of the reviews for Sushi and Roll. This is really good "TO GO sushi". I too love authentic, high quality sushi bars but obviously this is not that type of establishment. I've been coming here since 2009 and have never had anything but good food and friendly, professional service. This is my go to place for sushi platters for staff meetings and entertaining. You can't beat their prices & I always get compliments when I have their platters for parties, etc.

  • Betty K.

Surprisingly great food, for the money!

    (4)
  • Kendra M.

Yum! Diamond. It doesn't look like much, but it's priced good, you get a good amount of food, and it's great. I love this for take-out. Its now one of my favorite little hole in the wall places.

    (5)
  • Yousha S.

I can definitely say, this place needs to step up their quality. I understand it's cheap sushi at an affordable price, but seriously, it's not even worth the money. Some of the rolls are just downright gross. We ordered a spicy tuna roll, and the tuna tasted as if it was from last month. My brother got food poisoning here and we definitely know it was from the tuna. Also, they've messed up my order a couple of times. I would not recommend it at all unless they start to clean up their act. One last thing, do not order their chicken terriyaki...

    (1)
  • Kimberly D.

The sushi tastes delicious, the food presentation looks nice, and there's a diverse menu. My sisters love to eat here! If you ever visit, I would recommend the crunchy rolls, spider rolls, and dynamite rolls.

Our Friday night go to take out restaurant for grandkids and ourselves. Family owned and run. Safe...police eat here. Great quality, well prepared , cost effect gem.

I love their teriyaki beef bowl and chicken bowl. They're always welcoming and greet customer nicely. I used to go to Saddleback and this place was the place to study when the library underwent constructions.

Oh man, the food right here sucks. I have never eaten the food like this. "Sushi and Roll" make me think a little more Japanese style but NOO it is not Japanese at all. It's more of Chinese food that is made from cheapest material. The guy at the counter is nice so this place get a ONE STAR. I should have seen this review before I go there but I had to eat something before the class so I went in... BAD EXPERIENCE Man, after I ate their food, I can't stop throwing up what I just ate from here. Nasty. I should have got money back but I was late to class so I couldn't. Damn man, what's wrong with these chinese owned japanese place. These place makes Japanese food bad. Poison food is not suppose to sell in the United States. That's all I got to say about this place Never gonna go there again!!

    (1)
  • Morgan M.

I really like this place. Admittedly, it's not the world's greatest sushi bar, but I always leave happy and satisfied. I've been here a few times and grown to love the kalimari roll and shrimp tampura. And despite thefact that other people who have reviewed this place say they've gotten sick, I have never once had bad or spoiled food here. Also, the staff is nice. The girl at the counter is quiet, but if you talk to her, she is very mice and has lots of recommendations. The guy is also nice, and always remembers me and my order.

    (5)
  • Paul R.

I eat Sushi and Roll sushi for lunch about once a week. It isn't a fancy sushi bar but the food and service are great. The cashier is very friendly and the service is fast-- especially if you call in your order. I can recommend lunch combo D and the avocado salad. Their hand rolls are also really good.

  • Jun T.

I used to frequent this place for a quick sushi snack since it's on my way home, but recently stopped going. You order from the counter and the people here are friendly. The sushi is nothing special but satisfies the fish craving. Unfortunately, the last 3 times I came here, the food did not agree with my stomach. And trust me, I have a serious cast iron stomach! The first time, I thought it was maybe something else I ate that day. The second time I started getting suspicious. The third time proved to me that it was definitely Sushi and Roll food that was making me sick. Sorry Sushi and Roll, I tried to prove my stomach wrong but I can't visit you anymore.

This place is great if you want to grab some real sushi and take it home with you. The atmosphere isn't flashy, but the customer service is great and they make your order quickly. It's reasonably priced and the sushi is tasty, tender, and fresh. I drive out of my way to pick up here rather than some of the other local places because the quality is so reliable and the service super fast.

I honestly really like the food here. I've had the best sushi and the worst sushi throughout my life and this place is more towards the better sushi Ive had. I deduct 1 star cause there's no alcohol :( but besides that it's great. Not a date atmosphere but if u want a quick bite to eat, you'll be satisfied here.

I love Sushi n Roll. it's always fresh and big portions at a reasonable price. Extra star for knowing my name as I come in. Yes, a Mom and Pop operation that we need more of

4 Stars for the Sushi... yum, but not OMG. 2 Stars for the physical space... blech. Prices are average. When I can't get sushi at Kanpai in Ladera because of the wait and I don't want to commit to all you can eat at Zenko on Marguerite, Sushi & Roll will do.

Sushi and Roll is always great. I usually grab food to go and it has been great every single time!

I really wish I could give it a better review but I just can't. I hadn't been there in a long time and stopped inn to pick up some dinner. The sushi tasted like it had been made early in the day and now smelled fishy. Now I remember why I hadn't been there in a long time.

I don't really understand what other people are saying because they obviously have no idea what sushi is if they claim that it's.....fishy? Were they expecting a hamburger? Anyway, I am a full Japanese-American girl with parents from Japan and I can tell you that I've had quite a variety of sushi and can point out the good and the bad. There are those super expensive sushi places which are just alright but still not amazing and the only reason that you're paying a lot is because you're paying for the atmosphere. Don't let prices blind you from the real quality. Anyway, back to my review on Sushi and Roll. I think that their food is amazing and it's great that they have such a broad variety of rolls, noodles, sides, etc. to choose from. Many sushi places have maybe 10 items under 3-4 categories. Plus they have those party platters that are just great for when you need to have a little taste of sushi at a party. Their service? It's amazing. Why? I remember the first time I walked in shyly with a friend. I hardly talked to them that day yet they both had remembered my face and name the very next time I was there. Both the girl and guy cashiers are super friendly and always ask me how my day was. My own mother barely even asks me that! So I cannot say anything but that it's a comfortable, welcoming, and friendly environment. Plus they're always making sure you aren't waiting too long for your order and that you have all the condiments you need. I LOVE Sushi and Roll

I agree with Mark as I don't know what other people's problem is. I find their sushi is great and fresh. clean restaurant and for a small family owned business - they are quite friendly. I always call in my order and they know me by my order as it's the same every time. They always have it ready for me to pick up on my way home in Ladera Ranch. Sometimes I call at 9pm and they still have my order ready i think the attitude you give is the attitude you will receive

Yakisoba is delicious! Not much of a sushi guy but the rest of the japanese dishes are great. Good size portions. Appetizers a little bit expensive though.

I would give this place no stars, if that were an option. This place should be called, "Sushi & Hurl." I ordered the spicy tuna salad, and got a plate of iceberg lettuce with a huge pile of mushy, fishy tasting "tuna." I'm using quotes, because I have no idea what that stuff was. The only silver lining is that if I do, in fact, get food poisoning, I will lose a quick 5 pounds before my upcoming Bachelorette Party.

A nice place on your lunch break or if you are jonesing for inexpensive California rolls. Wish the place was a bit more tidy and aethetically pleasing but the food is hearty and fresh.

I don't know what other people do, but I eat here regularly and love it! The spacious dining room is spotlessly clean and bright, they menu is large, the prices are good and so is the food! As to service, there are generally two people who work the counters, both related to the owners. They don't "cold shoulder" anyone, quite the opposite. They are respectful and friendly. A bunch of people I see there are regulars and love it! I honestly wonder if the other reviewers are thinking of another store? Seriously, it sounds or feels nothing like my experience and I go pretty often! One review won't override a couple of bad ones, but honestly, I think you will be happy you tried Sushi and Roll. Tons of folks are and eat there often.

I'm sorry to say I didn't have a good experience here. The place was sweltering hot (it was summer) and I did not feel the fish held up well (yuk). I won't be going back.

Fish is not fresh and service is so poor too. Never come back.
